Naomi Campbell creates media circus in Leidschendam
(Fri 30 July 2010)
Hundreds of journalists from all over the world want to come to The Netherlands to cover the British supermodel Naomi Campbell testify in the trial of war crimes against ex-president Charles Taylor of Liberia.
The Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL) in Leidschendam have put a stop to handing out accreditations to media companies due to the lack of space of the Hariri Tribunal where the Taylor trial is being heard.
Campbell will be interrogated over the so-called blood diamonds she allegedly received from Taylor. Blood diamonds played an important role in financing the war in West Africa in the nineties.
