Police spotter team in test phase
(Thu 29 July 2010)
The Haaglanden police set in motion a team of “spotters” during huge events. These are authorities who investigate people in the crowd spotted to have derogatory behaviour.
The team was put in place as a response to prevent what happened during last year’s Queen’s Day celebration in Apeldoorn that ended in fatality, and in this year’s May 4 commemoration ceremony in Amsterdam. The spotter team is still in the test phase.
