Eight players of the top 150 in the world look set to make this year's Siemens Open a thrilling one.
The tennis hot-shots include Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay (pictured right), the hero of the Siemens Open in 2007. In the final battle, he beat the German Dominik Meffert and went on to rank 45 in the ATP world rankings, he currently stands in 55th position.
This year Argentinian Gaston Gaudio will make his debut at the Siemens Open after withdrawing from last years event due to injury.
The former winner of Roland Garros (2004) hopes he can this year, use the Siemens Open as a springboard to sequel his successful career, where he reached rank 4 in the ATP world rankings, he is now ranked 185.
The Dutch contribution to the event come in the form of Matwe Middelkoop and Thomas Schoorel who received wild cards. Middelkoop was successful last week in Apeldoorn, where he exercised his current fitness.
Schoorel Thomas, 21, is at the next step in his career and sees the Siemens Open as an ideal opportunity to grow as a player.
The number of Dutch players may still increase as the tournament director Ivo Wrist still holds two Wild Cards.
