Smile, Swimming is Fun with SwimKids!

(01 June 2010)

SwimKids is a certified, professional organisation offering English spoken swimming lessons to children from 3 to 10 years old. Their proven techniques and qualified swimming teachers have helped countless children in the past to take on the water.

With it’s experienced team, small groups, individual instruction and playful teaching, absolutely no waiting lists and a slogan which reads “Smile, swimming is fun!”, it’s no wonder SwimKids has become a success! Facilities in The Hague, Wassenaar, Leiderdorp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam ensure that there is a SwimKids near you!

SwimKids teach 3 levels - SwimTots, Elementary Swimming and A-Level preparatory diploma – and employ the Dutch ABC levels with emphasis on floating, water safety and survival techniques. The classes are small, with a maximum of 5 children per teacher, offering your child a near private lesson. These 3 levels will ensure your child is safe, confident and enjoying the water. Read on for more information.

The SwimTots program will provide water safety lessons to children aged 3 – 4 years, allocated in small groups based on their swimming ability. SwimTots lessons are fun, making use of games and toys to built confidence in the water and increase safety.

Elementary swimming takes children one step further and teaches the basics of all swimming strokes with a focus on the breast stroke and the correct use of arms and legs. These lessons are an enjoyable challenge for children aged 5 – 6 years old.

SwimKids then prepare children for their A-Level diploma, helping them master the correct strokes and meet the requirements to achieve this. Your child could be ready for a Dutch diploma this term.

Advanced swimming encompasses non-stop intensive swim practice in our competition pool. We exercise all the strokes and encourage them on improving technique and stamina. The children will be presented special exercises and can be trained for try outs at your school swim-team.

SwimKids was founded by Quinten Cieremans in 2007, a father of three who taught his own children how to swim. Positive remarks on SwimKids teaching methods had the school expanding at a rapid rate since the first lessons at Holiday Inn in Leiden. SwimKids now employs 15 teachers and teaches over 350 students, of which 90% are English-speaking.

“We aim to challenge our students with personal assistance to get them going. We meet requirements, but we also want to have fun,” says Quinten.

What makes SwimKids a truly unique swim school is the fun factor. Not only are the lessons fun and exciting, but challenging too and the results are quick and noticeable.

The lessons are also held in interesting locations, Tikibad Duinrell in Wassenaar for example, which permits free entry onto all the rides for kids who are doing swimming lessons with SwimKids. After the lesson, they hit the rides and have an absolute blast!

Perhaps one of the most unique aspects of SwimKids is that they organise swimming lessons abroad at beautiful luxurious holiday villas, helping families to enjoy their summer holiday to the maximum. Swimming lessons are offered at all rental locations of Jules Villas. Please visit the website below for further information.

The prices are very reasonable at € 80 Euro per month with lessons lasting 45 minutes each. For every second or third child in the family, the price is € 60.
