A family show 'Splash' by Meekers (suitable for children aged 6+) is coming to Theater De Regentes on Saturday 27 March 15.00.
 

Water forms the red thread in Splash! It deals with the ingenuity of people in extreme situations in which water plays the main part. So no water ballet, but dance theatre with an amusing look on a serious theme. Water is surely the fountain of all life. Our forefathers originated from the water. Up to 70 percent of our own body exists of water. And our future depends on it.

The scenes take place on the craziest places: under water, behind a waterfall, on a sinking island, in the Sahara, on a glacier, and perhaps even in The Netherlands. It could be the past or the future. Or is it all a dream? What can you expect in Splash!? Especially the unexpected! For everyone from 6 years up with or without hydrophobia.

An entertaining dance performance for young and old, and moreover: an illustrative journey through a series of landscapes telling something about the nature of men and animal and the situation of our planet. With small cameras and inventive use of attributes the world will be depicted as a micro cosmos, with flying illusions, in a dream language full of suggestive images.

With varied dance performances MEEKERS can be seen throughout the whole country and sometimes also over the borders. Choreographer, artistic leader and humourist Arthur Rosenfeld knows like no other how to forge theatrical ingredients, song and play into a cheerful whole. He creates performances for which you're never too old!

Afterwards there's a movement workshop. We go down into quicksand, swim under water, stamp in pools and dance like drops. With a heavy dose of fantasy the contestants end up in the most watery situations.
